How We Work

Editorial Policy

How every calculator and article earns its place on this site.

Our promise

Every calculator and article on Calculate All exists to give you a correct, understandable answer. This policy explains how content is created, reviewed, and maintained — so you can judge for yourself whether to trust it.

Human authorship

All calculators and articles on Calculate All are written and reviewed by people — the site owner, Tahir Zaman, and the Calculate All editorial team. We do not publish unreviewed machine-generated content. Reference tools may assist with drafting or formatting, but every formula, worked example, and factual claim passes human verification before publication.

How a calculator is made

  1. Research. The formula is sourced from authoritative references (textbooks, standards, official documentation) and documented with its source.
  2. Specification. Inputs, units, limits, outputs, and worked examples are written down and hand-verified first — including edge cases like zeros and negative values.
  3. Build & test. The calculator is implemented and run against our automated test suite (currently 242 assertions across all tools). It ships only when every assertion passes.
  4. Editorial review. A reviewer re-checks the formula, the examples, the FAQ answers, and the copy for clarity and correctness.
  5. Publish with dates. Every page carries a published date and an updated date, plus a visible byline naming the author and reviewer.

Full technical detail: Our Methodology.

How articles are made

Guides and explainers follow the same research-first process: claims are checked against primary sources, numbers are recomputed independently, and buying-guide recommendations are based on documented criteria (features, price history, user ratings) — never on which product pays the highest commission. Affiliate relationships are always disclosed; see the Affiliate Disclosure.

Keeping content accurate

  • Scheduled re-reviews: every calculator is re-verified at least annually; money and health tools quarterly.
  • Event-driven updates: when a formula standard, tax rule, or guideline changes, affected pages are updated promptly and the "Updated" date changes.
  • Reader corrections: verified corrections from readers are fixed fast and dated publicly — see Contact.

Corrections policy

If you spot an error, tell us with the page URL and what you believe is correct. We investigate every report: confirmed errors are fixed, the page's updated date is changed, and significant corrections are noted on the page itself. We do not silently rewrite history — substantive changes are dated.

What we don't do

  • We don't publish sponsored calculator results or let advertisers influence formulas.
  • We don't present estimates as guarantees — assumptions and limits are stated on the page.
  • We don't give personal financial, medical, or legal advice — see our Disclaimer.
